History: Charlie Weasley was always known for loving his Dragons more than he loved any one woman, so when he brought home a bouncing baby boy to meet his family in England it would be an understatement to say they were shocked. Yet no matter how many times, or who, asked Charlie would not say who the mother was.
All they could find out were the clues taken from Ben's own name. Beniamin means Son of the Right Hand which could mean that his mother was a close coworker of Charlie's, but the name also stems from a similar name that means Son of my Sorrows, which could mean that his mother is dead. Either way, no one seemed to know and no one was telling if they did.
Ben absolutely loved growing up in the Dragon Reserve in Romania. He was always meeting new people that came to see and study the dragons, and he loved the dragons themselves. He always loved playing with the different animals around the reservation. When he was about nine, he and his father found a small nest of broken eggs. At first they thought they were bird eggs, because they were so small. Then Ben heard a soft crying from a bush nearby.
When he went to investigate the sound, he found what he thought was a tiny baby dragon. Seeing that the creature appeared to be whole and unharmed, the little boy figured that it was crying because it was hungry. Reaching into his pocket, he brought out a small hunk dried meat that he kept on him whenever he ventured far from their campsite. That and his canteen. Until he was old enough to make his own food and water, his father said he had to carry it on him; just in case. When he realized the tiny dragon could not chew on the tough dried meat, he chewed up a piece for it, and fed the creature that way.
Charlie just stood back and watched his son for a moment before turning to look for the rest of the clutch. There appeared to be more than one egg so there should be more than one creature. Unfortunately, he came up empty handed. By the time he returned from his search, he found his son holding the little blue in his hands, the tiny creatures belly engorged with its feast. Ever since that day, the boy and his mini dragon were inseparable. It was not until he got his Hogwarts letter that they realized Starli could not go with him everywhere. They asked Professor McGonagall for special permission, but were denied. After all, Charlie is a Dragon Trainer, surely he can handle such a tiny one.
