A loud bang was heard and then, in the shadows of the trees in the park, three kids appeared. There weren't many people in the park that day, it seemed, which pleased Bea. She didn't want noisy people asking what happened and they would, seeing as they were all pretty shaken. It wasn't snowing, which was surprising, but the grounds were covered in a light layer of snow that was glistening in the feeble sunshine.

Bea checked that no one was splinched (they weren't, thank Merlin) and then hugged Kiva and Thomas tightly and hoping nobody followed them. "It's okay now. We're out." she said as she backed away, but treacherous tears kept running down her cheeks.

It suddenly hit her that her father was still in there, being tortured or being killed and her tears started choking her. She tried to calm herself and get herself together, because it was quite obvious Kiva still wasn't okay, but she couldn't stop thinking about her Dad. Tears were now flowing down her cheeks and Bea buried her face in her hands, while her shoulders shook with her sobs.

After a minute or so, she collected herself enough to stop sobbing and looked over at Kiva and Thomas. Tears were still running down her face as she couldn't stop them, but at least she felt like she could talk now.

"Are you two hurt?" she asked, her voice shaking. "I don't know any healing spells, but we could go to St. Mungo's if necessary."

Kiva didn't think she'd ever be able to look at snakes again. Which was slightly inconvenient, seeing as they were Slytherin's House Symbol. Though she never really liked looking at the Slytherin crest. It always made her shiver slightly. She was barely able to see because of all the tears that were clouding her vision, feeling unbarably guilty about the fact that Thomas had to be the brave one. If she had more courage, then perhaps she could've helped him in some way. But she was utterly useless.

The conversation Thomas and the woman was having didn't register in her brain though. The only thing that registered was the snake disappearing from around her, and Bea being in front of her, holding her face. She bit down on her lip, trying to stop the next round of tears, holding Bea's hand tightly as she was apparated away, arriving in what looked like the park once she'd gathered her surroundings. She didn't apparate often, and it often left her a bit dizzy.

"Out," she breathed, crumbling to her knees, winding up sat on the floor, face still damp with tears, but throat too dry to wail or sob. She felt like all the energy had been zapped out of her. She just stared ahead, not really seeing anything. Just staring.

"I know healing spells," she murmured, looking up at Bea, though she knew she was probably too unfocused to really cast any. "But I don't think I'm hurt," she was amazed at how smoothly her voice came out, though it was very monotone. "Do-do you think..." she bit her lip, unable to say it. Did they think the woman who saved them would be okay? Did they think that their parents would be okay?

Her dad...

Thomas could hardly do anything but stop himself from throwing up as soon as they'd apparated to wherever they were now. Well, now he knew one form of transport he'd never take unless necessary. He hugged Beatrice back tightly before moving to sit down after she had pulled back, his legs felt as if they were about to cave in. He took a minute to calm his thoughts about his father in his head, his dad was a good wizard, so he'd have to be fine, if anything he'd be able to help the person who had set them free get rid of that fogged person.

He took a few deep breaths to try and console himself and stop the tears that were threatening to burst out, only to feel a jab of pain in his chest. He ignored it though, it was nothing major, and just shrugged at Beatrice when she asked. "Think I'm okay." he replied quietly.

Then it hit him. They were out, they'd made it out safely and they didn't have to worry about those people, though it killed him to know that there were people who were potentially getting tortured still there. People fighting for their lives. It's not like he could do anything though. He was too young, and everyone else in there looked like they could handle themselves. Better to make sure that the people who had made it out were okay. He wasn't quite sure what Kiva was about to ask, so had to make a guess. "Do we think everyone else in there will be okay? They should be. I mean there were a lot of good people there, right? So they should be able to fight those foggy people off." He suggested. He had no clue if that was what she was going to ask, but it was what was running through his mind, and saying it aloud helped to clear his worry, if only on the smallest scale.

He was about to ask what they were to do next, only to see that Beatrice was still shaking and Kiva seemed in shock. Thomas didn't even know how to help the pair, so he just sat there in silence again.

Upon hearing that neither of them was hurt, Bea let out a breath of relief and leaned on a nearby tree, closing her eyes. Her body was shaking and her legs couldn't keep her standing up anymore and slowly, she slid down the tree to sit down on the ground. She didn't even acknowledge the snow, the only thing she could think about was her Dad. For all she knew, he was still in there, being tortured or maybe...maybe he wasn't even alive any more. Tears were still running down her face, but she made no effort to stop them or wipe them away.

She looked at Thomas and Kiva when they spoke and she wanted to say something to make them all feel better, but she found no such words. She only looked at them through her tears. Her Dad could be looking for her right now, worried sick about her and he wouldn't see a curse coming his way-she let out a strangled sob and covered her mouth with her hand. She shouldn't be thinking this way, her Dad was a grown man, he was able to take care of himself.

She nodded at Thomas' words, thankful for them. "Yes." Luckily, her voice was steady. "I'm sure they'll be allright. Like you said, there were a lot of good people and, and..yes." she had no idea what she was saying, but she felt like she had to say something.
"Thomas, you were great in there. I'm sorry I ran ff like that, but I-I figured we could use some help... You were amazing." she thought back to when she came back with the good lady and Thomas was having a conversation with her. She thought that was a particularly good move, trying to distract her from attacking and he probably saved his and Kiva's life.

Kiva. Bea looked at her friend who seemed to be in shock and she wanted to make it all better, but she had no idea how. "Kiva, they're gonna be fine." she said, referring to their Fathers, "They're grown ups, they know how to fight." She hoped she was making her friend feel better and she really wanted to believe her own words, but the fear was always present.

Kiva didn't know how Thomas was managing to keep so...strong. She didn't know how Beatrice was managing it either. She was barely able to keep herself from curling up on the ground and burst into tears. Though she kind of felt like she'd cried all that she could. Now she felt less scared and more numb.

She began to phase out the conversation as Beatrice started talking to Thomas, the words that he'd said repeating in her head. There was good people there. More of them than of the foggy people. They would be fine. They had to be fine. There was even Aurors, who were trained to deal with people like this.

But Kiva knew she would not feel completely settled until her father was out. And even then, she could feel guilt bubbling to the surface, threatening to break through.

Before she could dwell on it, Beatrice was talking to her, snapping her out of her thoughts. Grown ups who knew how to fight. Kiva nodded slowly, a slightly wobbly smile forcing its way onto her face, unsure exactly what she was doing as she shifted closer to Beatrice, taking one of the girl's hands in her own. She could see the tears that were on Beatrice's face, pulling the girl towards her in a slightly awkward hug, wanting to do something. Turning back to Thomas, she held a hand out for him to take, unsure whether or not he needed comfort. She felt like she had to do something though, after all the help he'd been.

"We-we can't stay outside in the cold," Kiva murmured, becoming increasingly aware of the temperature. "We should go inside somewhere. Or something."
