Brandon ran in the classroom hoping to get away from the boys that had tried to hang him upside down in the Potions classroom. They said the potion would only make him turn colors for a day, but he wasn't taking that chance! And he didn't want to drink the potion so the boys had grabbed him. The only thing that saved him was one of the ghosts had come in and distracted them.

Diving under a table and crawling to where he was sitting curled up with his legs tightly pressed to his chest, Brandon peeked around as much as he dared not wanting to be seen. He did not want to be dragged back to the dungeon and hung upside down. It was a wonder he'd gotten to the first floor without them catching up! They were a lot bigger and strong than him and they surely knew more magic than he did. Hearing footsteps and seeing the door open he ducked back behind the desk. Sucking in his breath, he held it hoping that it wasn't the professor. If it was, how was he to convince him not to send him back out there while the older boys were around?

Kiva was happily walking through the halls on her way back to the common room, reading her book, blissfully unaware of her surroundings. Though that wasn't necassarily true. She'd learnt that the further down in the castle you get the more you need to keep your guard up. She was very good at reading while listening to what was going on around her. And her eyes snapped up when she heard the sound of running footsteps.

One thing she hadn't learnt yet was to not be so curious.

Heading towards the noise she saw a History of Magic classroom door swing shut, heading towards it, her book in one hand by her side. Walking as quietly as she could, Kiva reached the classroom and pushed the door open, stepping inside, not sure if she wanted to leave the safety of the door. If it was something she didn't want to confront it would be easier to run away if the door was next to her.

But she sucked it up and stepped inside anyway. Running into a classroom wasn't usually something someone who wanted to cause trouble did, was it? Glancing around slightly, she sucked up her nerves and spoke. "Is anyone in here?"

Hoping it wasn't a trick, Brandon peeped around his hiding spot. Seeing a familiar person (one of the other Hufflepuffs had told him that it was important to know who was a Prefect), he breathed a sigh of relief. It was a Hufflepuff prefect or he wasn't sure he would have come out. Gazing at the older girl he stood up nervously. Would he get into trouble for being here? Just because they were in the same house didn't mean she'd let him off the hook did it?

Swallowing, Brandon offered a timid wave. "Hi. Just having a meeting of the uh, young achievers and stuff," he tried to sound convincing even though he knew he was fooling no one but that didn't stop him from giving a weak smile.

"I think I got the day wrong though so maybe I should be going..."

Kiva relaxed slightly when she saw who it was hiding in the classroom. Hiding behind a desk at that. She vaguely recognised him as a younger Hufflepuff, she kind of remembered most of her younger House Mates, seeing as she felt kind of obliged to as Prefect. After a brief look of relief he seemed to become nervous again. Was she scary? Kiva'd always thought she was too small and timid to be scary.

She raised a brow at the excuse he gave her, glancing at the desk he'd been hiding behind. "Young achievers? Are you new to it, if you've got the day wrong?" Kiva gave him a sympathetic smile. She didn't believe him in the slightest. But something about the situation she found him in felt familiar. "You should make sure you memorise what day it is, else someone else might find you and get you in trouble."

Glancing at the desk again, and giving him a pointed look, Kiva figured it was probably best to bring him up on it. He may have been lying, maybe to get out of trouble, but if he was already in a type of trouble she wanted to know. She wanted to help, as little help as she probably could offer. "Though I didn't realise people hid behind desks instead of sitting at them patiently in the young achievers meetings."
