Werewolf Attack

Naomi knew it was stupid of her to venture deeper into the Forbidden Forest on her own, especially when she wasn't even an adult yet. And that's why, right now she was cursing her bad luck to and back from hell. She just ventured in on a werewolf. Her pulse quickened when the wolf looked at her and she started walking back slowly, not wanting to invoke the wolfs wrath but she knew it was useless.

She swallowed as the wolf came closer to her, it's amber eyes watching her like a hawk. The girl was frightened as she knew that the wolf only had two possibilities to this. One was the wolf biting her and leaving her alone and that would lead to her becoming a werewolf. And the other one was that he'd kill her.

She dearly hoped that it was none of them but when she saw the wolf's eyes she knew she was done for. She spun on her heel and started running hoping to any and all deities known that she'd leave the forest fairly unscathed. But her bad luck worsened when she forgot which way the entrance was.

Her eyes widened when she heard the wolf approaching her from behind and she started running once again, blindly trying to find her way out of the forest. Before she could move further though the wolf pounced on her and she fell with a scream, her eyes wide and filled with fear.

She knew that this was either her end as a human or her end all together. She'd either die or get bitten. When she felt the wolf's breath on her neck she knew what was coming but she still screamed. She didn't know what was worse, getting bitten by a wolf or getting Crucioed by her father.

As soon as the wolf's teeth left her neck she collapsed on the floor, crying silently. She distantly heard the wolf leaving and she knew that she was alone. She shakily stood up and started walking, the bite on her neck throbbing. She knew that a person wouldn't turn before the next full moon so she was in no fear of turning yet. She had no idea what would happen to her.

She knew though, that despite her father seemed as if he didn't love her much, he wouldn't kick her out of the house so she was in no fear of having anywhere to go. She moaned slightly as she collapsed by a tree as her knees where shaking too much. She pulled them up to her chest and laid her head on them, breathing heavily.

Scorpius was on his usual Prefect Patrols. Well, usual was stretching it a bit, he was never entirely sure he knew what he was doing, which was probably because he so rarely paid attention when being told what to do, but he had the general idea down. Doing the same patrol every time was a bit of a boring thing. He had to shake things up a bit somehow to keep this Prefect lark interesting.

What he found wandering about the outskirts of the forest was definitely not what he wanted to make things interesting though. He recognised the blonde hair before he realised how the girl was walking. She was in trouble. He had to help her.

"Naomi?!" Scorpius called, running as fast as he could to get to her. She'd dropped to her knees, and he couldn't run fast enough as far as he was concerned. "Naomi, what happened? What's-what's happened to your neck-?!" he shrugged off his outer robes, wrapping them round her shoulders, more out of lack of knowing what to do than anything. Whatever was wrong with her, the least he could do is make sure she was warm enough, and she was definitely shaking far too much for his liking.

He glanced towards the forest, wondering exactly what she was doing coming out of there. It was Forbidden for a reason, and from what he knew it wasn't exactly like Naomi to do stupid things. "Come on, we need to get you to the Hospital Wing. Can you stand?"

Naomi was breathing harshly by the time Scorpius got to her, she slowly raised her head and her blue eyes were filled with tears that were falling down her cheeks. She welcomed the warmth from the robes and snuggled further into them. Her neck was burning as she spoke in a raspy voice.

"H-hey Scor." She smiled weakly at the teen. "...Just.... some trouble happened." She clutched the robe tighter to herself, slowly trying to stand up. It was hard but as she grabbed Scorpius' arm she pulled herself up and leaned against him.

She knew she'd be in trouble if they found out what happened and she knew she'd be in detention. She could careless though, right now. She was just bitten by a werewolf and she was not going to start moaning about the unfairness of everything. She bloody well knew what would happen if she ventured into the forest but the curiosity got better of her.

Scorpius did not like the sound of her breathing, in the fact that it was so not normal. He felt his insides tighten at the sight of her crying, making sure that the robes were wrapped as tight as they could be, unable to really bring himself to care about the fact that it was a bit chilly outside. He could stand it, he was a big boy. Though he wouldn't object to them finding warmth as soon as possible.

"Some trouble?" he repeated, reaching out to help her up, before wrapping an arm around her, hoping to keep her on her feet. "What kind of trouble? Why were you in the forest?" did she really need grilling right now? The nurse would probably do that well enough. They had to get to the nurse.

He began guiding her towards the school, situations reeling in his mind, images of Naomi being attacked by various creatures of the forest. The entire thing should be cornered off so no one could get in. Or just burnt to the ground. He just had to get her inside first, and out of the cold, and away from danger, and into the arms of someone who would be able to save her. "Are you bleeding?" trust him not to notice something like that straight away. "How badly hurt were you?"

Naomi whimpered quietly and nodded her head at that, she was holding onto Scorpius, feeling as if she would just crumple to the ground if he wasn't holding her up. She swallowed and whispered softly and really quietly. "I... was attacked by... a... a..." She couldn't help but let the tears fall again as she choked out the creature that attacked her. "A werewolf." She buried her face in his shoulder, crying softly.

"I... I don't know what made me go in there but I just wanted to...." She choked out, clutching tightly to Scorpius. She knew she would get a right dressing down but she could care less now. What happened, happened and she couldn't change back the time. "I'm sorry." She whimpered.

The blond walked with Scorpius, trying to keep up with him but her legs weren't exactly co-opperating so she was thankful for Scorpius holding her up. She was still shivering slightly but didn't complain. "...I'm not sure... if... I'm bleeding... B-But... Th-The were-werewolf.... bit me." She cried more, scared of what Scorpius would think of her now.

Scorpius felt his blood run cold as soon as she said attacked. Someone attacked Naomi? How dare they even think of touching her. The notion of it made him feel sick. Attacking a helpless girl, what kind of monster would do such a thing? When she did actually say who it was, and he realised that it was in fact a creature who had done it, a real monster, he began to worry about what it had done.

"It's okay," he whispered, trying not to sound too worried. "It's okay. It's all over now. I want you to promise me you'll never go in again, okay? Sometimes we do things we're not supposed to do, but...never this again," never. He wasn't sure he'd be okay with letting her out of his sight again.

She wasn't sure if she was bleeding? Should he check, to try stop it? It...bit her? "It bit you?" Scorpius couldn't keep the waver in his voice this time. Did that mean what he feared it did? Would she become...a thing? His father had told him about werewolves. His father knew werewolves. He'd been told about the werewolves that his father knew. But Naomi was so...different. Would she become like them?

He didn't want to lose a best friend.

Naomi shivered against him and took a deep breath. "I promise, I won't go in there again." Her voice was hoarse and scratchy but she managed to not sound scared as she was feeling. The blond didn't know what would happen to her and she sure as hell hoped it wasn't something bad.

When she heard the weaver in his voice she whimpered. She didn't know what Scorpius felt and she was scared to ask. "...It did.." She nodded, fisting her hands into his shirt. She was scared, scared of losing him as a best friend and the mere thought of that brought tears to her eyes. She couldn't hold back the sob that left her lips.

"...A-Are you... disgusted or... something? Wi-Will you stop being my friend because I'm one?" Her voice was so low and scared that she wasn't sure that Scorpius heard her. Heck she didn't even hear her self.

Scorpius tightened his hold on her as she promised not to go in again, scared at the very idea that there was a posibility. He wouldn't let her. He would never let another friend enter that forest. It made his skin crawl. He didn't want to go in there ever again.

Was he disgusted? Well, yes. The thought of the blonde Gryffindor changing into...a beast once a month made him feel sick to his stomach. It would make him friends with one, the ex-boyfriend of one. They were retched, disgusting creatures that should be kept away from the rest of society, to stop them attacking innocent people.

But this was Naomi. She couldn't stop the wolf from biting her. She didn't ask for this.

"Of course not," he said, a light tone to his voice. It sounded believable at least. "Never. You couldn't help it," maybe if he kept repeating it to himself then he'd believe it more. "Look, were back at the castle. You think you can handle the stairs to the hospital wing?"

Naomi whimpered at the light tone of his voice, knowing that deep inside he was not happy with it. She wasn't happy with it either and she didn't know if she would take to being shunned by people. More importantly her friends. It made her eyes sting with tears as they walked.

"...I'm sorry." Her voice was weak and hurt as if she knew that there would be distance between them in the end. Nothing could actually make this change back, she would be a werewolf forever, whether she liked it or not. "...Mmm... I think I can." She nodded, her voice really quiet.

That whimper did not make him feel better. Could she tell? When could she not tell? He had no idea how to respond to this. He never in a million years imagined that...surely the school should've been better fortified against these sorts of things? He should complain. Or have his father complain. Or have Albus get one of his family members to complain they were important and people listened to them.

But he shouldn' t tell Albus this. This was Naomi's secret to decide what to do with. And he wasn't sure he was comfortable admitting to anyone that such a close friend was a...thing.

"Come on then, we'll get you to safety soon, don't worry," he didn't comment on her apology. He didn't know how. It wasn't her fault, but he couldn't bring himself to word what he wanted to say properly. He just wanted to focus on getting her to the hospital, and away from the forest. She wasn't one yet, right, so there was nothing to worry about. Worrying came at a later date.

Naomi held in the tears that escaped before but now she wanted to keep them at bay. She would cry when she'd be alone, when she was safely locked somewhere where no-one would hear her. If she broke down now she knew that she wouldn't be able to walk to the hospital.

She didn't know what to make of Scorpius' silence and she didn't comment on it. She didn't need to be a Legimens to know what he was thinking. She knew that if she was in his position she wouldn't want anything to do with her but... She needed her friends right now and she didn't know what would happen to her if Scorpius just left her to be alone.

"..Th-Thank you." She whispered softly and into his shoulder.
